フュージョン最初期の歴史的名盤「Bitches Brew」を1969年8月に録音してから1970年12月のワシントンDCのライブハウス,The Cellar Doorでのライブ収録までの公式盤でのマイルス・デイビス・バンドのメンバーの変遷を追ってみた。
まず気がつくのは「Bitches Brew」の録音から次の「Jack Johnson」が録音される1970年2月まで約半年間の間があくものの、それ以降の1970年にはスタジオ、ライブを交え夥しい量の録音が残されていることだ。
1969年後半の空白時期は非公式音源でのみ出回っているいわゆるロスト・クィンテットの時期にあたる。
