A live album of the original Steps has been released. The album was recorded at The Roppongi Pit Inn,Tokyo in 1979 and had been available only in Japan for long time. Unlike Steps Ahead in later years, the original Steps was playing acoustic jazz with fusion flavor.
Songs in the album are as follow.
 Tee Bag
 Lover Man
 Fawlty Tenors
 Song Of Seth
 Young And Fine
 Soul Eyes
 Not Ethiopia
 Sara's Touch
In addition, following new songs are included.
 Uncle Bob
 Momentso
 Recordame
"Fawlty Tenors" and "Not Ethiopia" are alternate takes. So total 5 unreleased tracks are included in the album.
I feel some nostalgia but it sounds rather fresh. Probably they played more powerful than now.
Especially Michael Brecker's play is so powerful and spiritual. And probably it is the last CD release featuring Don Grolnick in the 20th century.
Needless to say much about this album,it is a value album including 5 new songs for old fans and it is a good chance for young people to listen to legendary live of first call players when they were still young.
* We strongly recommend this album. You MUST buy one!!
